- This has been a common problem with the Hayes 28.8 modems and the Sportster
- 28.8. I have a Hayes Optima 28.8 that had this problem until I replaced the
- chipset. Try turning compression off on and see how it works. That helped out
- me until I replaced the chipset. Good Luck
